Special Sunshine Coast TZM Meeting with the Aussie Coordinators.

The Sunshine Coast Zeitgeist Movement will hold our next meeting on Friday, 27th April, 2012.

TZM Sunshine Coast are happy to announce  a  meeting this Friday to coincide with the visit by the TZM Australia Coordinators David and Kari. They and Tamara, a very active member of the Adelaide Chapter, are coming to the coast to participate in an academic forum discussing and contrasting different economic models so, to take advantage of this visit, we are holding a special meeting on Friday morning.

This will be a great opportunity to ask questions and find out what other chapters in Australia are doing and what is happening in the wider world.

Though it is an unusual time and fairly short notice, we hope you can come along and participate in what it sure to be an informative and interesting day.

For those of you who are able, I would also urge you to attend a meeting they are holding in Brisbane the day before (see the post below this one)

Nicole Foss is an academic from Canada that writes under the name Stoneleigh on the website: http://theautomaticearth.org/

She will be speaking on the ongoing economic collapse and other factors threatening the current system and strategies that individuals and communities can take to mitigate some of the adverse consequences.

She is an engaging speaker with a wide knowledge base to draw from.

I would encourage you all to come along for what should be a very interesting and informative evening.

Act Local, Network Global – Campaigns in April

That’s right – you usually hear the phrase “think global, act local”, and we’ve decided to take it a step further with our globally networked Movement of local community-based action.

When we act locally and network globally everyone can be an activist. Believe it or not it takes more than people like Martin Luther King and Gandhi to change the world  - it takes little people like you and me! Taking small steps, making strong connections, and telling new, more positive stories are things we can all do to be the change we want to see.

The Zeitgeist Movement Australia’s latest Global Issues Awareness Campaign revolves around exactly that – local actions, globally networked. This month we’re kicking off a series of monthly local events, hosted by you! Yes – that’s right – hosted by you!

Queensland Beyond Zero Emissions Climate Action

The world’s largest coal mine is being developed 400km inland from Cairns, with a proposal to ship coal through the Whitsundays. There is no doubt that it will destroy existing jobs in tourism and agriculture, and hurt manufacturing across Queensland.

Actions and forums will be held in Queensland over the coming month. Don’t miss your chance to be involved and expose the propaganda of the mining industry for what it is. Events are to be held in both Cairns and Brisbane.

National organization meeting – Sunday 26th Feb

The next national organization meeting will be as follows:

Date: Sunday 26th February 2012

Time: 6:00pm – 8:00pm EST

Location: Teamspeak – TZM Australia room

Please feel free to attend. Meetings are open to all for the sake of transparency (they are also recorded). Due to limited time generally only organizers/coordinators speak, although if there is limited traffic and/or you have something important to share then there may be an opportunity to do so during the meeting. Otherwise there will be an opportunity for general discussion once the business side of the meeting is over – all members are invited to participate in this.

The main focus of the next meeting will be plans for Z-day 2012 – planned for Saturday 17th March. Sunshine Coast TZM meeting

The Sunshine Coast Zeitgeist Movement will hold our next meeting on Saturday, 11th February, 2012.  

TZM Sunshine Coast are happy to announce scientist Will Hughes - a Sunshine Coast Zeitgeist member will again be doing a presentation at this next meeting.

Will has two subjects of interest and the first one involves a webinar on German New Medicine on the 4th and 5th February, 2012. Click here for the info about this event.

Will has finished the Bedini 10 Pole Monopole Kit and because of this the next meeting is being held in his home. Many of us are anxious to see it. Included is the YouTube video below for you to view.

TZMau Organizers’ open Team Speak Meetup

Hey there!

The next organizers’ meeting is coming up soon – details are:

  • Date: Sunday – 15th
  • Time: 6pm-8pm EST
  • Location: Teamspeak – Zeitgeist Australia room

This meeting will be open to the public, meaning that anyone can listen in. However, as is also the case with international meetings, only coordinators/representatives will be able to speak during the meeting due to time constraints (with 11,000 members it has the potential to get chaotic!), although if there is low traffic others will get a chance. Once the business part of the meeting is over (8pm) there will be ample opportunity for all present at the meeting to continue their discussion and chip in their 2-cents’ worth, so those who did not have a chance to speak before can do so then :-)

Sunshine Coast Meetup

 The Sunshine Coast Zeitgeist Movement will hold our next meeting on Saturday, 3rd December, 2011. Ian has kindly offered to have the next meeting at his home since his location is more central for the Sunshine Coast.

I am happy to announce scientist Will Hughes a Sunshine Coast Zeitgeist member will be doing a presentation at this next meeting. Will has recently returned from overseas after connecting with other scientists. Will has a wealth of knowledge regarding many areas of interest including alternative energy. We are very happy to welcome Will at this meeting and I hope many of you can join us for this special presentation.
