    Hey all

Its really awesome to see how much the movement is coming along. I see posts of people starting communities, people offering technologies etc that we can use.

Fundamental to TVP is the centralised database.

Every one of these projects going on around the world is producing tests and case studies we should all be using.

We need to begin to document, in a central database/library, the specific systems to put in place for getting these projects going. For example, people want to develop an off-the-grid community.

Some people seem a little against these, but if you really think about it, it seems to be a fundamental stepping stone in shifting the mindset from the current system to the of TVP.

So if the information database for TZM existed, this should be a website, which requires community members to login, more people would be able to begin the following:

    1) Getting themselves off the grid (if that is all they wish to explore at this point)
    2) Provide a blueprint for the different systems and technologies a community would need
(Community layout, what works what doesnt, sewage treatment/usage options, best options for housing in specific climates, internal agricultural production, the computer network, the internal communication network, best option for energy, how much energy is required per person/capita, food inventory, etc, etc)
    3) Work as a foundation for getting the TVP centralised database model started

I'd be happy to begin talking with people about what this would need to include, format, user interface, etc

    Any thoughts?

Hi nice comment, I am currently planning this for when I officaly open a zeitgeist chapter in my city,

    My goals have been

    1) Green housing.
    2) Energy generation.
    3) Food.

    -1) Green Housing,

I have been looking into construction under the terms of Green Housing.
Currently I believe Rammed Earth homes are one of the most simple/effective ways of building a home. All most all of the tools used in the creation of the house's can be run from Solar power, it is Low cost, And with the right plans fast to build.

I have designed a electro-magnetic brushless motor to run the Rammer that can be run off solar panels, the tool can also be modified to use in farming operations aswell.

    -2) Energy Generation,
May seem expensive but, In under 5 minutes I found on Australian E-bay Provolatic solar cells for only $1.50 each, with home made panels and wind generation you could power your home if you know the total voltage you need though out the house, the most costly part of it all is the battery storage.

    -2a) Energy Consumption,
A good start is to add up all the things in the house you need.
    - Fridge
    - Electric Oven
    - Computer + Monitor + Modem + Speakers + Any power useage
    - Television
    - Kettle
    - Toaster
    - Microwave
    - Dishwasher
    - Washing Machine
    - DVD player
    - Game Console
    - Lamps
    - Mobile recharge devices
    - All wall/roof lights + Outdoor lights
The goal to all of this is, to know if all items were on at one time how much drain would be on your system. Also how much you can expect to use in a day. so that you will always have power from your battery storage, and you can always feed power back into the grid for maximum gain from the power company's.

    -3) Food,
Simple joint effort farms can be designed and a trade system put in place, both of which I am trying to design, and start my self, with trying to get some friends to a large area to start the small farms. Overall this has been the Easiest part.
( Organizing friends is the hardest )

    As for what you said,
Getting off the grid totally is not very easy,
In my opinion we need to work on a social design that can replace what we have now,
And that can be "upgraded" as new idea's and changes comes into our lives,
This too I am working on mainly now.

But I am stumbling as I have limited HTML/CSS knowlage but now HTML5 is here, and I have to relearn to adhere to the new rules of it all.

    -Peace

There is beauty in the way the Universe works.

Last weekend, a new friend mentioned TZM. I downloaded and watched the videos. The ideas resonate with me. I registered with the forum and read this thread.

My expertise is with information security, collaborative computing and massive databases.

What you are talking about is a content management system (CMS) with a wiki as the knowledge base.

If you've ever tried to search a forum to find the gem of information you know you once read, you already understand the main problem with user-contributed content. The wiki is the tool to percolate information into wisdom.

My first-blush recommendations are for open-source (free) software like Drupal for the CMS and MediaWiki for the knowledge base, all running on a mySQL database. Additional bells, whistles and shiny objects can be added, but this is the foundation.

    I am at your service.

Sounds promising, We should all collaborate what we have to offer, I have stumbled into problem's with the design I was trying when I came up against PHP and all that,

Where you reside Tron and solvision?

I see the 'Global Site' uses Joomla for the CMS and already has a wiki.

You mentioned "we should all collaborate", so I think we should really work out how to help those who have already put the tools in place.

Thats all good to add to that, but we are in Australia, We should focus on what we need to do here,

    My email is the.omnipotent.one@live.com

Send me a E-mail, and I will send you the basis of my idea,
I don't want to publicly announce it yet till I have more than 50% of it done.

The CMS "Drupal" is great too!

    Very expandable.

Ah, no. Unless you get the fact this is a global project, you are missing the point.

Why should you keep you idea closely guarded? If there is merit, it will flourish. If not, it may inspire the next person who can take it to a level where it benefits us all.

@craftymethod - I'm a proponent of Drupal, as it is more secure and twice as fast as Joomla. But, that is just the mechanics behind what really counts - the ideas.

I have posted my E-mail, And I am willing to share the idea,
But I don't want to publicly show it as the project can be used to make money from,

Any one with any intention can look at this website,

I would love for it to be open source and I am hoping it will be in time.
