i have been brainstorming an idea for nearly 3 years now on a deep sea platform... the logistics of an operation such as this would be immense ... this i am aware of my reasoning to bringing my idea to light in this particular forum, is the nature of what is involved should such an idea progress beyond mere thought, and the nature i expect from those who also have an understanding of what is currently being undertaken "behind the curtain."

    the platform would consist of:
an aquaculture facility for the production of supplies and emulsion (for the construction of actual soil for plants)i could go into further detail but at this point will keep it short.

the possibility for power in such a location is limitless, for the progression of the construction of the platform most power would easily be obtained through the implementation of solar collection.

in terms of scale for this platform my main concern is keeping the platform stable until construction to the sea bed is achieved. the ideal location for my proposed idea would be near a large underwater thermal vent (one with no marine life) and using a large bedrock creating a "hotplate" for the hydroelectric system (note: this is also a possible source of fresh water without using a desalination system).

well its 3 am i'll leave it here for now but the eventual objective is to have a complete selfcontained living environment where when people want to eat they simply walk to a tree or wet a line in the seatanks. the idea is to create enough clean energy to not only sustain the facility but any nearby landmass's as well

all is great, and everything should have a green light that we have resources for, is sustainable and lives with accord with humans.

but thats not the main concern now - the concern that we all face is - money. how can you bring that about
    ?

    How big is the platform?

the platform would grow to suit the needs of its inhabitants... using aquaculture a fairly consistant source of income could be achieved... similiar methods are already used along the queensland coast to grow fish in sea cages at this point the minimum size of the platform (too cater for four ponds, food storage, dwellings and a power array it would need to be at least 40 acre's and thats a conservative estimate.. securing the platform to a GPS lockable location would also increase the size and manipulate the availible shapes as it would be possible too keep said platform in one position but thats going to take a wicked impeller system using a series of arterial like conduits for the seawater to flow through
