DVD Flick
DVD Flick is a free authoring DVD tool - that means it can create a DVD movie playable on any plain DVD player from many common pc formats like avi, mpg ect.
It can also create a simple menu.
And - most important - its free and Open Source!

DVD Styler
Software developed to create custom and advanced DVD menus, sub menus ect. It can also serve as a authoring tool but it cant convert files into VOB ( DVD video format ).
Open source and free ofcourse - this software is quite advanced, and one might have some problems with its complexity.

I have found a cheaper place in Sydney where you can purchase a 50 DVD pack for 10 to 13$.
those DVD's can also be burned faster than the last ones - up to x16 and are printable.Ask around in Capital Square for Princo DVD's

If I bought a nice big run of pro printed dvds in cardboard sleeves would anyone from outside of Melbourne be interested in chipping in for a portion of them?
