    Hey everyone!

This email contains a review of the South Australian Zeitgeist Movement meetup last Friday, and a general update.

    Meetup
Firstly, it was an ok turnout, with 8 people, 6 of which were new faces.
We spent a fair amount of time discussing the Zeitgeist Movement, however a number of people weren't completely familiar with the movies.
Hopefully by now everyone has had a chance to watch http://www.naden.de/blog/bbvideo-bbpress-video-plugin -->

    Zeitgeist Activist Orientation Presentation
(or read the pdf). If not, I highly suggest you do.

The next meeting will be held on Saturday the 24th of October at 6pm. More information is available on the website.
If you have any suggestions for what to talk about, then please let the list (or michael@greyphoenix.biz) know.

    Marketing
Given that the movement is still in its early stages, we are still trying to increase the numbers (mainly through word of mouth), and possibly find a larger venue to accommodate larger meetings.
To help spread the movement, if everyone introduced the movement to their friends, family, and anyone who shows an interest in helping the world, then before long we will have enough people to make a real difference. Spreading the movement this way is generally classified as Viral Marketing, as we are using word of mouth instead of mass marketing.

I'm currently looking for some help to complete some small marketing materials projects :

    Website
I would like to rework the http://www.zeitgeistsa.com website to be a 'landing page'.
Once completed it should be a useful starting point for anyone new to the movement and still has questions, or doesn't quite grasp the concepts. A lot of this can probably be derived from the current DVD pages.

    Designs
To make the site more appealing I have got the talented Cor DeJong to make up a number of different site logos to use for the design.

I would like everyone to look through the design options, and select the one they like the most, and add any suggestions they have. This market research can be used to influence the final design. Also, if anyone has any graphic designs they are interested in submitting, please let me know.

    Design Form : http://intro.zeitgeistsa.com/other/ZM-Design-Form.htm

    DVD
The DVD that I have been giving out at movement meetings will need to be revamped with the new website design, once it has been chosen. This includes the content, and design of the DVD menu, the website menu, and the DVD cover. Most of it will simply be a case of moving the content from the zeitgeist sa website, and I can work on the DVD authoring.

    Badges
This is something I suggested a while back to the National ZM contributors mailing list, however never eventuated as we need some graphic designs, and access to a badge making machine.
We now have a range of graphic designs which can be turned into badges, so the choice is to hire a badge machine (the only ones I can find for hire are interstate, unless someone knows somewhere local?), or get a company to make them up.
It looks like it'll be around $100 in parts for 250x35mm badges if we make it ourselves (assuming we can borrow a badge making machine for free), or $150-$200 if we get a company to make them.
My current idea is to get a local company to make two lots of 100x35mm badges, each lot being a different design. We can then see if the idea works well and it's worth saving for a badge machine, or if we should try something else, like keychains, T-Shirts, hats, etc.. Something that helps use identify other Zeitgeist Movement members, or create a talking point for people who don't know about the movement.

    Cards
There are a number of places where you can get 500+ basic business cards printed for $60 or less.
By getting a card printed with the Zeitgeist Movement information, and some URLs, it would be useful to give to people when you don't have any DVDs on you.

    Video Clip

As per http://www.zeitgeist-movement.at/video/english02a.htm, there is a call for International Zeitgeist Movement cells to create some short video clips showcasing their location, which can be edited together into a video.

Hey Michael, sorry to see there isn't much going on for SA. I have shown the videos to most of my friends but would like to help out getting the SA chapter going.

  3. Bjorn

Hi Michael and muhcat. Just wondering how the SA meetings are going nowadays?

  4. Freyacat

    Hi Muhcat and Bjorn
I hardly have used the forum for the last year but occassionally I check in. I just came across your posts asking Michael how the SA meetings are going, etc. Michael is in Sydney at the moment, but there are some others who keep things going in his absence. We have actually done quite a bit of work here, and at the moment we are having fortnightly regular meetings. For further information re where and when check our website: http://www.zeitgeistsa.com Next meeting is on Tuesday 19th July, 2011, 6:30, at the Astor Hotel, Cnr. Pulteney and Gilles Street, City.
We have a core of active members here who are currently working on state and national projects, we are communicating about doing this work, and with one another on the Atrium platform, which is open source. There is lots and lots of work to do, and we are generally flat out and always welcome voluteers. You can check out what we are doing on http://chapters.zeitgeistaustralia.org
Ok, hope I have clarified that we in SA are not a bunch of slackers, don't hesitate to contact me, leave a message for me in my PM or, if you are going to subscribe to the Zeitgeist SA member discussion list email me on tamara@zeitgeistsa.com and I can fill you in on our doings.
    Regards from Tamara

    Hi all.

I'm new to TZM myself and I have spent the last few days watching various videos regarding the movement.

Further to that, I've spent the last few hours lurking these forums just to get an idea of the topics raised and whatnot.

Many of the views expressed in the videos I have watched have reinforced my own beliefs and it's great to know that I am not alone and that there are others who feel the same way.

I'd love to meet new people, discuss new ideas, and overall volunteer myself to the movement and the benefit of the country/state.

...btw I'm not FROM SA but still happy to help in any way

    Hello Bazwait
Welcome to the movement. It has been fairly quiet on the forum lately, and i think it is because a lot of the discussions and activity now take place in the individual state chapters (I think there are about 3 or 4 in your home state) as well as on an open source communication platform called Atrium (you'll find it as a sticky thread TZMAU Volunteering Platform on the main forum page) which is used by members who are actively involved in projects.
Good luck with your research on Zeitgeist and RBE, all scary and exciting at the same time, and absolutely necessary for our survival.
    Regards from Tamara
