I've found that going to Meetups that you can find at http://www.meetup.com is a good way of getting new members. Find groups that have similar interests and just go along, have fun, and if it comes to it, tell them about ZM and the VP.
You'll make new friends
You'll get practice talking about the ideas and dealing with issues that people bring up
You can introduce new people to the Victoria ZM meetups and the whole movement
You will develop contacts that will be useful for setting up joint events such as lectures, screenings and stalls
