Hi nick hi all , c u all wednesday
Robbo
The upcoming meeting this Sunday 15th of November, was something I was rahter looking forward to.
However, I have been invited to help celebrate a friends 60th birthday.
Could it be possible for someone to take the minutes of the meeting and then post them here so that those who could not attend my at least get an idea of what goes on at the meeting.
Thanks, and sorry I won't be there.
Hi Seven , It's a fairly informal meet at the moment , the group is discussing how to start a "food project" ( hydroponic gardening ) , this is normally followed by open discussion of topics like energy , health , science , and of course social issues . we are showing the orientation guide and are up to part 3 I believe , as far as notes go each member writes down what they want to , there are no formal minutes nor structure at the moment .
regards ,
Robert
Any word on the next meeting?

Excellent, thankyou.
Hi everyone. My name's Loki, (yeah thats a nickname - parents call me Nick) I moved from the Blue Mountains in NSW to Melbourne about 2 months ago and I'm looking to meet like minded people. Started reading into ZM about a year ago and the whole movement is right up my alley. Would love to meet you all, possibly even before the Venus Project lecture. Say hi, catch me on facebook, lets go grab a coffe or a beer sometime?
Hi All!!
My name's Stuart and I am emigrating to Melbourne in a month. I have been heavily involved in the London UK chapter and have been writing ResourceBasedLiving.com for over a year, inspired by Addendum. So I'm highly active and am really looking forward to getting involved in some activism and self sufficiency projects when I get over there!
Are you still having meetups? What's currently happening in Melbourne? I notice the biggest issue in Oz at the moment is the great "firewall" - and it doesn't look like the government is listening.
Hello Stuart, sounds great, will be good to have you down in Melb's. I have been advised
there is to be a meet up in Melbourne next Tuesday, which will be my first.
Melbourne like other cities are looking forward to hosting the Venus Project lecture tour at
the moment. However not sure how to approach media outlets to get Jacque's and Roxanne
interviews while they are here, do you have any experience with that? Do you know of a
Venus Project Media Kit?
That's right our government does not listen to reason or practicality and continues to spend
on this ridiculous firewall project. I am almost beginning to miss the previous Howard
government, because watching these clowns pissing our tax money up against the wall is
making me feel ill. But I won't get into that. However I remain hopeful that the Senate will
block this firewall if and when it is actually ready to be put forward. Though with the
current track record for delivering successful projects looking less than impressive so far
I won't be surprised if it is quietly shelved and the wasted development costs covered up once
they realise it's probably not exactly practical on any level.
Anyway great to hear from you and looking forward to meeting up when you eventually touch
down.
Regards.
Hi Dark,
I'm afraid I don't have much (successful) experience contacting media outlets, but you might want to get in touch with the Columbian team as they seem to have done a good job over there. From my experience with organising lectures I can give you these tips:
Contact the media by phone as then they can't ignore your emails
Contact them EARLY
Put flyers up in schools, Unis, Tafes, colleges etc.
Try and get as many NON zeitgeist people as possible, otherwise it'll just be preaching to the converted.
Advertise on all the "What's on" magazines and papers, even if you have to pay.
Contact similar groups about the tour, look on Meetup.com or whatever the Oz equivalent is.
Get out on the streets and TALK to people. Don't just give them a flyer, engage with them, lock into their interests and tell them about the Venus Project. Don't even mention the tour but hand them a flyer at the end.
By the time I get there it will all be over (second time I've missed the lecture tour due to moving country
) so I'll leave you guys to concentrate on that and just keep an eye on what's happening for now
