I thought It might be a good idea, if we began a local data-base of people, skills knowledge and resources. The intent would be for people to help each other with various idea's or projects. I have experience in a lot of things however lack in just as many. Collectively, even at just a knowledge base it could prove beneficial, for anyone trying to implement idea's. I am not suggesting that by being on the list you are obligated to help with every problem every person confronts, but sometimes simple things such as the phone number of a business or link can be very useful and save people a lot of guess work, running around and money. Most people implementing idea's are doing so on a budget, help and knowledge are always welcome.
By being on the list I think the worst you might expect is an occasional email asking a simple question. For example I can buy an off the shelf 3phase charge regulator, but I know that they are not so complicated that I wouldn't be able to build one my self at a fraction of the cost. I found articles and diagrams and calculation methods online but they are intended for someone that has electrical/circuitry background. If anyone could interpret the diagram and instructions for me into more easy to understand terms I would be very appreciative.
I might begin the database here, and if enough people start listing we might be able to begin something more formal on this site.
I suggest that the ground rules be that
1. Questions in emails be kept very clear and simple initially,
2. Don't think people are obligated to answer your questions, people have lives and may not have time.
3. If you don't get a response don't keep sending emails. Maybe send the question again after a couple of weeks if you still don't get a reply leave it at that.
4. Never be nasty to someone if they don't reply.
5. Label the subject of your email as TZM or TVP so it is not written off as spam.
6. No spam
feel free to add to this list
I will post my skills and resources next.
yeah I suggested this, and I was personly working on a website about this before
I check here every day.
