If this is already being discussed my apologies.

I just thought, it would be interesting to get some feedback of our own. Lets deal with it section by section piece by piece.

To start lets dig into the opening sequence. It starts with the quote...

In a decaying society, art, if it is truthful,
    Must also reflect decay.
And unless it wants to break faith,
    With it's social function,
Art, must show the world as changeable.
    And help to change it.

    By Ernst Fischer.

And ends with what will come to be known as one of the greatest one liners in film making history, by Jacques Fresco.

    "This shit's got to go."

What are your feelings alone with just this, less than 9 mins, of footage.

What message do you think it was attempting to portray?

And how well did it do so?

Did it move you in any way?

Did it grab you and hold you locked in heated anticipation for what was to follow?

ps... Sorry I have been called away I will get back to this.

    Let's do this

    Hi t0N3s,
I enjoyed Z3, I think each film is intended as an improvement on the last, the film to an extent is being refined. When I recomend ZM and VP for peaple to have a look at, I am recomending they watch Z3 first as it doesn't seem as "conspiracy" or "brain-washy" as Z1. The basic information in each film is the same, it is the delievery that stands them apart.

I particulary enjoyed the fact that the first part of the film drives home conclusively that our social structure and warped environment we have allowed to develop around us is killing us. By changing these alone we elimate a large portion of the problems we are faced with today.

Your question about the closer, to the opening statement by Jacques...

I think the build up to the line, is very suptle, and a lot of what Jacques says leading up to it are thoughts that we have all thought at some stage to some degree. I personaly feel and share Jacques frustation, his face shows grave concern, and the delivery of the line "this shit has to go" pretty much says we goto start now, I find it hard to imagine living for the last 75 years with Jacques perspective on the world, 75 years of torment, watching it slowly destroy itself.

"This one step - choosing a goal and sticking to it - changes everything."

like the others Z3 was great , its probably a little more palatable to those who are currently religious in nature,
however the movement isn't really going actually move forward until practical things start to happen,
we're all really still "all talk"

yeah I agree Moving Forward is more gentle, but it still packs a good punch.

For me its like this, each movie backs up and qualifies the one before it. Leading us on a journey. I see many messages within the words and the visual and audio exchanges. Its stimulating to watch these modern pieces of Art.

Much can said for the format and as I said before the journey within. The first movie jumps up and slaps you right in the face, come what may. BAM false belief systems, false leadership. The second kicks 'them' in the nuts and qualifies the previous one, economic hitman to the rescue. And now the third a transition and a deeper social message. Moving Forward even the title is great, now, now, now. This can be a reality.

    This?

    A Resource Based Environment.

The first movie shows us the problem, the second goes further into it and shows a solution and now the third shows us a path. A path of social awareness and conscious change we all need to take in order to arrive at the goal. And we are introduced to the production side of technology. This is where we learn not to fear it. We see it's wonder and are flabbergasted into stunned denial, which when explained becomes acceptance and even pride.

"yes sirry, build an ENtire house in one day withOUT human labor, sept fer maybe pushin' a button and supervisin, Oh an ya may have to fix the machine ifin it breaks, but they don't make 'em like they used to, they make 'em to last..." *in my best 1950's redneck*

Next will be something along the lines of, "Lets Get Started". Or perhaps there might be another before that one. Eventually we will have a movie more set to a documentary format of the way we (a few here and there around the world) actually exist within our self made albeit little Resource Based Environmental Communities (we need a different name). Then in time the rest of the world will see the proof. Then what was once the area for one small community will be upgraded and become the central hub of something much bigger. And so it begins.

Ahh but there in lies the fear. Success.

Although not to be feared itself, it can bring unwanted umm ... things. Will we need to be guarded? That's a horrible thought. The flow of people willing to give their all, will increase fast. Perhaps faster than the limitations of small beginnings will allow. It does not take the general person long to wise up to something better, but it takes longer on a mass scale, such as oh, planet Earth. Long story short, many chapters in countries all over the world will want to be involved in a real-time community. Living the dream if you will. Even with rotating personal.

As each grows so will exposure, which to be honest could be better right now. Currently we need finance and we will continue to do so until in a position to go "off the grid". We need smart people whom know how to play the money game to play it for US. And play it well. But on a personal level that sounds 'scary'. Corruption and greed and mistrust and and and... dont ya just hate money.

Now even though I know I dont know enough about it, I've thought about it and Im sure Im not the only one. What would happen if we actually started a Zeitgeist Bank. The biggest scam in the world? Honestly, unfortunately it is possible. However it also could work. Not a pile in the street to take it "out of circulation" but a pile in a bank vault all our own ???

Alas I am not smart enough for that one. But I like the idea.

Opps I've drifted off-topic a bit and better stop now before it's a book. LOL

ps. "Lets get it started in here" BYP

Ok, trying to get back on topic, lets dissect this puppy.

What an opening. Honestly its great. Although I should say, Again as all 3 movies have great opening sequences. This one is equally as smart as the others, perhaps more so.

We get, blurry unclear static. Like trying to tune into something. Jumbled messages of the worlds problems piling up on top of each other as a droplet of water takes shape and a story becomes clear. A man recalls childhood memories of his endearing grand mother and playing monopoly against her. Being defeated, needing to learn. So he does learn and re-addresses his mentor. Annihilating his enemy he is triumphant when suddenly his dreams are crushed as the water droplet hits the deck... Boom.

"Now it all goes back in the box"

    Brilliant !!!! love it.

A young man appears, dazed and confused (another great track)watching almost numb as the world goes by. Class definition as we see a homeless boy and a wasteful couple at a cafe. meanwhile the droplet swells as the monopoly story evolves and newly formed puddle slides into the gutter. Soon it begins to engulf all around it. He watches the programming, buy, consume, conform, worship to name a few surrounds him. Innocence sleeps on the street amongst it all. he retrieves his case and begins to walk down the road, seemingly to fall in line.

the music is dramatic and charismatic yet has a sweetness at the same time. It picks you up. Fade to black and we see the opening credits. GENTLE MACHINE productions. Is the first 'official' words we see. I laughed and smiled. A Peter Joseph Film. Dam straight.

Now Jacques classic childhood recollection and analogy of the world he recognised as a young person, the same as many many of us do, hence it is highly popular and therefore classic as it is ageless. That game is wrong, we should play it this way. Stifled and force to conform, he retreats and uses science to learn about nature only to discover he was right all along. This shit's got to go!!!!

Nice cutting edge title shot, then.

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful,
committed citizens can change the world.
Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.
    -Margaret Mead.

    Awesome.

And all within the first ten minutes of the film.
