Hi Elfro, I get the impression your moving to Antarctica. I know you dont mind the cold, but take a spare paddle 'cause the current running from down there is a real bitch! Seriously though your threads taken off, lots of good ideas from some decent sounding folk. Cheers all.....

the biggest hurdle for me is my desire to keep my current job, there is land availabe if you go out far enough, but that would be to far for me. unless an opertunity pop's up alot closer.

if i didnt have a job that i loved i would think of going to dowell's place near Lismore, or infiltrate dowell's frends land in Aratula
    .
if anyone is willing to live in a coumunity thats an hour's (or more) drive from brisbane then speak up and we will start looking for lease land, and bring a comunity together, maby even infiltrate someone elses comune and bring them around to venus so to speak.

otherwise there is always yerts on rented land, but yerts suprisingly cost a fair packet.

im not going to give up, even if we hafta build somewhere i personaly aint going to live, it's something that will need to be done.

    My apologies.

    To you all, Hello,
I am new to forums and still finding my way around, but I'm not one to shy away from learning something new.
I am 53 and have filled my life with design and building many things from aircraft to art.
I do not profess to being a specialist in any form, always open to learning more about making life here comfortable, healthy, and exciting, for all, now and in the future. Passion has been my best teacher

Thanks to Jacque, Roxanne, Peter and all that devote their energy to this cause.

    Be well and do well
    dowell.

I am definitely interested, and have wanted to achieve something like this for some time, however it is money that holds me back, this is not unusual. I don't have any job that I am trying to hold onto, I'm simply a student (although we all are students..always).. For me, I would have no problem in being heavily involved in the setup stages of such an idea..

An idea...what if we found someone who lives within range of south east QLD who already owns a large portion of land and who would be willing to let us use or lease a site on it?

    Hi All and greetings!!!
I can feel a revolution in my bones ..I just hope I get to see it in my life time...Funny, I have only started to study community development at uni and I came across The Zeitgeist Movement in my first week!! DO DO DO DO DO DO..I am totally hooked...But I guess the first thing is to convince the rest of the world and turn everyones heads around especially the ones with all the skills to build a global saviour to the rat race we all live in now. I live in Brisbane and will be tryin my hand at hyrdropnic gardening in my spare time as I love gardening but now more then ever before its the water shortage that has swayed me that way. Before I even thought of starting study I thought that hydroponics was the way to go..Could never understand why in Africa they never have introduced it...to my knowledge anyway.....and here in our own desert...anyways just wanted to say hi...

Hi. With regard to forming a self sustaining community within Brisbane I am not surprised that you've had no luck. I agree with some of the comments that most people have no idea that our way of life is soon to change and most, nay, nearly all, will not be prepared. Whether one's fears are formed by religious, political or human rights movement research, the problem with rounding other like minded people together for survival is thwarted by one thing - what is the reason for a survival plan? Even once a group of like minded people is formed with the outcome being survival, what are we intending to survive? We have the threat of war, famine, police state, environmental disaster, pestilence, economic disaster. I believe the first step is to work out what we are intending to survive. Everything flows from that. Personally, I believe America is about to be toppled as a world power and it won't go quietly. Australia, as an ally, will be drawn in further to honour it's agreement with America. A group must agree on the purpose of the survival plan first, then come up with solutions as to how the outcome is achieved. I'm in, and have already started, albeit on my own. I believe that people collectively will survive. Those who go it alone will struggle and perhaps not succeed. Up for further discussion.
