   Well... that's a lie. I stole this idea from the Egyptian people.
   So full credit to them and all the other's before them who did this.

   Here is the thought process - follow for a while and then poke holes please because I want the harsh truth.

   How many people do we have in each major city or that can get to major city?
   I would guess somewhere between 20-50 or more in the bigger ones. (I hope I'm not dreaming with those figures)

   How wide is a road? Specifically - How wide is a major arterial road leading into the cbd? 20-30m or more depending on the number of lanes.

   How much exposure(and trouble) would we get in if we walled off a road(I don't even know if this is a legal form of protest in this country let alone each state) leading into the CBD of each major city on Z-day(maybe not this Z-day, but in theory here, doesn't have to be z-day).

   I can see the chaos as <insert main road name here> grinds to a halt as protesters form a wall reducing traffic to 1/4 flow.

   Why? Why go to this trouble? well... personally I am tired of qld being sold off. what about your state? I am but an ignorant Kiwi living in QLD so I haven't the knowledge to point out anything about other states at this stage.

   I'm not even sure this is a good idea. but it is one and I wanted to put it out there.

   Moved. I think this is an interesting idea, but we'd get hostile responses from every side. With the laws today, they could probably spin that into some kind of stupid terrorism charge. maybe...

   get some council road blocking stuff and set it out so it makes all the lanes merge into 1
   if you put it out there in the wee hours of the morning it'll probably take a while for them to notice,

   off the course of discussion

   how about a LED countdown timer built into a block of aluminium (which i'll gladly machine out) and then liquid nailed it to the front of the RBA building in Sydney in the middle of the night, by the morning it'll be well and truely stuck, at a certain time it could be programmed to turn on and then start counting down for a few days, until "ZDAY"
   imagine the drama that would cause,

   We need the support of as many people as we can for this to happen, legal public art, informative demonstrations, invite people to inquire as numbers will give power to the people.

   We have to cut through 1,000s of years of CONditioning.

   Look for novel technical & creative ways of bring awareness to the masses.

   I'm Not too good at band-aid fixes or short term things - I tend to think more about the long game and I guess that is the end goal. Once we have critical mass if half of or even 1/4 of Brisbane walked out of there offices and onto the streets... different story. but a hand full of people its a lot easer to point the finger.

   I did think about, and here is probably the place to mention it, trying to come up with a viral campaign of some form. be it sticking small stickers with TZM logo and the phrase "every wanted to change the world? Join the movement.' and then a url all over the show. Or a video or series of video's up on youtube that are some how very catchy.
   I thought maybe some clips of the poorer parts of where ever we live with some suspense building music, then some clips from TVP. this is becoming more popular I think but I'm not sure anyone is trying directly to get viral.

   Seriously though, getting some big names as patrons would influence a lot of peaple, Peter Garrett maybe? He's already in government, or has he sold his soal already and lost his public credibilty since he joined the labor party ?

   This is not a good idea at all for the simple reason that it is illegal. You guys need to be a lot more careful advocating this sort of thing. It doesn't take much for the authorities to declare a group "A Hate Group" or "A Criminal Organisation". In most states they have passed laws aimed at the bikies groups where by any member of a group that coordinates for a criminal purpose is subject to very severe penalties. Espousing blocking off arterial roads into capital cities is a criminal purpose. It gives the authorities all they need to label us a criminal organisation and shut us down.
   I would like, while I am here and talking about this sort of thing, to perhaps inform some of you about the most common way in which the authorities undermine and destroy organisations they wish to.
   It is the strategy of the "Agent Provocateur"
   It works like this. The authorities inert someone into an organisation and have them pose as a member. After they have established themselves the agent then commits a crime that implicates that the organisation. It could be anything from inciting violence in a street march to setting up an organisation as tax evaders to suggesting the organisation commit a crime...like blocking highways.
   Please guys. Be careful what you say. This is the face of the Zeitgeist Movement in Australia. This is where people come to check us out. Apart from putting the organisation at risk legally and in the eyes of the public it is just plain stupid if we do want to attract people to the organisation that might help us.
   Imagine if Peter Garrett really did (and no, I don't think he ever would)happen to join and told the media about it. The first thing the media would do is scan this forum. If any of them saw any of us advocating a criminal act the headline would be "Garratt implicated in ......" and that would be the story.
   So, please, don't suggest anything illegal on this forum and if you see anyone on the forum suggesting we commit illegal acts ( or even acts that would play poorly in the media) please shout them down or inform the moderator.

   Thank you marduk we all need to work as a team.

   Moving road signage may cause an accident, that accident may kill someone, and the person that moved the signage my well be charged with murder. ooops! easy as that. Any hint of it being conected to TZM, and we go backwards very quickly.

   It's now a thin line between being a Protestor and Terrorist.

   Activist have to continualy find new and creative ways to spread the word.

   To get the support we need to change the state of play we have to be very aware of the legality of all we do.

   Small mistakes can have big consequences.

   TZM does not need bad press ever.
