I see this as the hardest of all of the concepts held within the VP project for man common or otherwise to learn and take up.

Well at first it will be for sure, as we are extremely selfish in our modern world. The polar opposite exists in what we have come to know as a 3rd world country.

    GIVING UP DECISIONS TO MACHINES.

The illusion of free choice and free will lets us make up our own minds and we quite literally do what ever we want or what ever we think we can get away with at any given time.

Imagine if you will, hypothetically speaking of course, putting your finger into you current pc at home and having it tell you what you needed for dinner. After analysing your blood it relays to you that you would benefit from a fish meal tonight. Even though you want a steak. Would you eat the fish?

What if you wanted chocolate cake and it replied no you would benefit more from eating a salad for this meal. Would you eat the salad?

These and things like it are what most confuse for HUMAN NATURE. In reality this idea of 'what I want' has been breed into you/me/us and is NOT human nature. I see this thrown around too much. There is no human nature other than to copy our parents until we learn to do for ourselves. But by then although it feels natural and normal we are still nothing more than a product of the world around us. The information contained within the Zeitgeist Movement's video's is quite true and correct. ALL this 'my choice' stuff is a product of the environment you were raised. It is indeed learned.

If I were from a poverty stricken country and suddenly taken to a VP styled city where I put my finger into a slot on a computer and it told me what I NEEDED for dinner I would eat it. I would not think, nah stuff that I want pizza.

We learn to be selfish, self centered, demanding because we are spoilt for choice.

If you are talking to someone new about Zeitgeist and The Venus Project be sure to make them understand this fact. But understand it in a way that it is not the removal of choice as ALL options are available but not ALL are necessary all the time. Your good health is paramount to the greater good of the community.

The false idea of free choice with regard to food fuels the machine and feeds the rich and so called elite that sit atop the pyramid while they in turn get catered to by nutritionists and chefs... think about it next time you stuff that greasy pizza down your throat.

You get sick, need help and the machine rolls on. On and over you just like it will your children and your grand children if we don't change it.

    NOW.

ps. We need to totally adopt that word "UNHUMAN" like we do 'UnAustralian' as this will enhance the idea that we are all one. No country, but one planet.

    Let's do this

    Each to their own, hm?

If I'm 'healthy', and have been eating muesli for breakfast for the past 3 months, I might decide that I want to break the habit and just have something different. Is it OK if I have fruit loops today? How about I have sugary breakfasts this entire week?

I think it would be fair to trust people with their own health and diet up to the point where they might be endangering their lives, or at least having to be hospitalised due to ill health. Then it might be fair to put them on a strict diet.

Up until that point, however, one size doesn't fit all.

wow... smoking pot makes you crave sugar and I bet you don't even know why. Ask your doctor what he thinks of Fruit Loops pal.

I eat whatever I want despite whether it fits what my body needs to maintain good health. I get fat. The general public starts to look at me funny. I go home depressed because I'm fat so I eat more and more and more and more until I am obese. Dead sexy? Hardly. Unhealthy due to my own choices? Hell yes. I did it to myself but I will blame my gene's, you and society as a whole. But I will take no responsibility for my own actions in any way shape or form. Then I will demand to be 'cured' for free cos I aint got no money and hopefully on national TV.

    all too common nowadays.

maling, stoned no doubt, you couldn't focus long enough to finish and missed the entire point of my post, then replied with some random response. Dude you are so funny, you make no sense at all but think you made a valid intelligent reply... silly lil addict.

Maybe I should try to make my posts a little smaller for you...

MACHINES MAKING DECISIONS for us was the main point, and how it could benefit us as individuals and therefore as a whole. Others were 'The illusion of free choice' and 'the misguided inbred idea of Human Nature' and not being able to change the way we are. Food was just an example.

YOU maling are the perfect example. A drug addicted fool whom falsely believes he is in control.

you prove me right every time, the person from the 3rd world country just ate a healthy meal, you had fruit loops.

It would be great if everyone was willing to give up their choice of diet to a computer, and eat what they're told to eat. I agree that, on paper at least, people would be healthier in general.

But I don't think (the majority of) people are willing to do that, and thus forcing it on them will only create more problems. That said, I fail to see even how you could force it upon the people.

As much as some may not like it, people do have a responsibility for their own lives, their own health and their own diet. Society will continue to attach stigma to obesity, and thus health will continue to be promoted. This is the best that can happen while keeping people happy.

It's great on paper, but I don't think the idea has any practical value.

Yeah I hear ya, and the idea is a scary until you look at it in a different perspective. Choice, or the illusion of choice is a luxury we have in our so called modern civilised world.

The chap from the so called 3rd world country has never had the choice nor the illusion of one. He would eat what ever given to him and be happy to have it.

Therefore once this bs illusion of choice is bred out of us, we would be just like him. Happy to have had a healthy meal.

I call it bs because it is just that, the choice to eat unhealthy food just because we WANT it is nothing more that what we would refer to as a spoilt child. We all act like spoilt little children. The Y gen are the worst yet, but I guess they learnt it from us, maybe.

So yes I actually wish I did have a computer at home that would tell me what I would benefit more from eating.

Remember, the rich elite have entire kitchens at their disposal and entire hospitals too should they ever get the snivels.

    Get it yet?

You/me/us choose to eat crap like McDonalds and KFC while eat Bavarian steak and caviar. We get sick from eating crap and wait in ques at local medical centers.
