The spirit of Community project is a new project established by a small team of TZM volunteers in conjunction with non-TZM volunteers. The project intends to reach a wider demographic than ever before with a message of sustainability advocacy for our One World Community.
Spirit of Community is a platform for engagement with the issues central to our planetary emergency and our very survival. From politics to environment, economics to war, we pull issues up at the root and examine them with a critical eye – always looking to find systemic causes and strategies for sustainability.
Complete with Spirit of the Times magazine, blog, library for those who want to dig deeper into peer-reviewed journal articles, simple campaign actions to appeal to a wide demographic of change-makers, and a wiki for collaborative consensus The Spirit of Community intends to encourage even more people to take that next step in becoming the change they wish to see.
Specifically a platform for communication and engagement, not an organization, Spirit of Community is thus unrestricted by identity-branding, a one-size-fits-all response to our problems, or the need to recruit members. The platform encourages connection and collaboration between people of all walks of life in the quest for a paradigm of sustainability worthy of our humanity.
Spirit of Community is run on a strictly non-profit basis, with any money generated from orders or subscriptions of Spirit of the Times magazine going toward covering the cost of production, campaign management, and website hosting. The volunteers who keep Spirit of Community running are unpaid, and work for the love of their cause. We are run by a loose coalition of like-minded and unlike-minded volunteer change-makers who are connected by a shared philosophy and understanding.
Please note that The Spirit of Community is currently under development and is likely to change a lot over the coming weeks and months. Keep your finger on the pulse for updates!
