Welcome to the Zeitgeist Media Arts Festival – coming up next weekend!!

The inaugural Zeitgeist Media Festival (ZMF), uniting the world through socially conscious art and music, is scheduled for the weekend of September 11th 2011, the 10 year anniversary of the devastating attacks on the World Trade Centre that raised in so many of us questions that could not be answered by our current system. The festival is a global, multimedia event working to utilize the Arts as an avenue to create sustainable values in the pursuit of a better world.

And this ambitious event, which is taking place all around the world on the same weekend, is coming to Sydney too! The Sydney Zeitgeist Media Festival is being held at Martin Place in the CBD, and runs from 10:00am to 8:00pm. It is an event to suit all ages, tastes and budgets, with free entry and a relaxing community feel.

The not-for-profit festival, planned and funded entirely by the motivation of committed volunteers, features a varied line-up of live music from Flamenco Australia, Stars of Addiction and On the Stoop, performance art and screenings of popular documentary films. Aiming to inspire and empower, speakers will present from a variety of like-minded sustainability-oriented organizations and concepts including Petra Liverani from Beyond Zero Emissions, and Ravi Prasad of Friends of Things. Sunny weather is forecast for the event which will be topped off with good food, great company, and the opportunity to connect with the world’s largest movement for social change.
